The Monocle is an improv form mixing narrative and scenic storytelling. Combining the two mechanics allows for time jumps, character switches, scene changes and heightening that brings life and humor to the scenes. The format is good for beginners, since it’s easy to learn, but also great for more experienced players, since it strengthens just about every facet of your improv game.
Adrienne Watkins, who developed the format, will lead this workshop that will cover story structure, character development, idea generation and more. She’ll lead exercises that will sharpen the skills you need before leading participants through multiple rounds of the Monocle.
The skills you learn at this workshop will help you in any type of improv you perform. Come play with us!
