Training Center Enrollment Policy
Thank you for your interest in Unscrewed Theater’s Improv classes. We are really excited about having you join our Unscrewed Family. Unscrewed Theater is dedicated to teaching and showcasing the art of improvisational theater, as well as other unique forms of live entertainment.
We foster a safe and supportive atmosphere where artists can grow and explore their talent. Our classes are dedicated to the development of our students as performers, writers, and human beings. We provide Unscrewed Theater to showcase their talents, in addition to enriching our community through the art of Improv. We strive to provide our students with a place to practice their craft and become a member of a community. It is extremely important that our classes are held in a supportive, non-threatening, and creative environment.
With that, we ask that you read and agree to our Enrollment Policy before you register for a class.
Age Requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older.
For our Teen Improv Classes (ages 13 – 17 years), a parent or guardian must enroll the student and sign a waiver.
Class Enrollment
Class days & times are filled on a first come first served basis.
No member of the public shall be denied enrollment based on gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, or other personal information.
Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment of six students may be canceled. Maximum enrollment is twelve students.
Tuition Payment
Fees/Discounts are as follows:
- If paid in full by the end of the second session, the total cost of an Improv Basics (eight-week) or ImprovBlox (six-week) course will be equal to $179 – PLUS you’ll receive an Unscrewed Theater t-shirt.
- Other payment arrangements are available on a case-by-case basis. Contact Unscrewed Theater’s Management or Executive Director for more details.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be given unless the class is canceled by the training center.
If a student must drop out of the course before the third session, the student may be offered a credit to retake the class, at our discretion.
Attendance / Tardiness
All our classes rely on group participation, and absences will affect your growth, as well as the growth of your classmates. We expect you to attend every class within the session and arrive on time. If you miss MORE THAN TWO (2) classes, you will not be permitted to perform in the showcase nor will you be allowed to advance to the next class level.
However, you are allowed to attend as many remaining class sessions as you can/want, even if you have THREE (3) or more absences. We do not offer makeup classes.
Students must be on time to class. Arriving to class more than fifteen minutes late will be counted as an absence. If an emergency or conflict arises, please call your instructor to let them know you will miss class, so they can do their best to catch you up and plan accordingly.
Level Promotion
Upon completion of a level, advancement to the next class level is not automatic. Each student is individually evaluated by their instructor and given a recommendation to advance or repeat the level, based on the goals of the current level as well as attendance records.
Improv Shows & Volunteerism
All students are required to see a minimum of two shows, at Unscrewed Theater or any other Improv theater of their choice. These shows allow students to immerse themselves in the culture of Improv and witness Improv concepts in action.
For the same reasons, registering to work as a volunteer in the Unscrewed Theater Box Office, Concessions, or Tech Booth is highly recommended. Volunteers are allowed free admission to shows after the completion of their duties. Upper level courses may require volunteer duties as part of the course requirements.
Class Conduct
Unscrewed Theater’s classes are held in a supportive, non-threatening, and creative environment. In order to achieve this, students are asked to agree to certain rules in regards to course conduct before enrolling.
